(i)The first volunteer’s offer is open-ended; he will go anywhere Jesus goes. Jesus’ response makes it clear that discipleship is a demanding affair. To follow Jesus is more like following an Old Testament prophet than like studying with a rabbi (Hengel 1981). Jesus, calling himself the Son of Man, says that he has no home. Even foxes and birds have more of a home than Jesus does. Discipleship requires resolve because it means rejection. The premise behind the remark is that disciples will have to follow the same path as the Son of Man. Discipleship requires trusting God in the midst of rejection.

(ii)Though the request seems reasonable, the potential disciple’s premise is that family comes before Jesus. In Judaism, burying family members is a priority (Sirach 38:16; Tobit 4:3-4; 12:12). The request also parallels Elisha’s request to Elijah (1 Kings 19:19-21). Jesus, however, represents the arrival of a new, more demanding era. So even carrying out such a burial is insignificant in the face of discipleship. The task must be left for others: “Let the dead bury their own dead.” In other words To preach the kingdom is to preach the benefits that God has made available because Jesus the Messiah has come.

(iii)This too is emphatically rejected, with a warning that turning back from the task is showing oneself unworthy of discipleship. The disciple’s hand is to stay at the plow. The remark makes great sense in a Palestinian setting, since the land there is rocky. The person who looked back while plowing would not furrow a straight row for crops. Jesus’ point is that discipleship takes focus.
Only Luke quotes this symbolism of the plow, a detail that stresses the disciple’s commitment. Disciples cannot back off from the task. Discipleship is not a second job, a moonlighting task, an ice-cream social or a hobby. It is the product of God’s calling and should be pursued with appropriate seriousness.

Elisha and Gehazi lived long ago, about a thousand years before God’s Son, Jesus, was born on earth. Jehovah used Elisha to do really wonderful things to perform miraclesn
When Elisha is used by God to help people get well, he never accepts money because Elisha knows that those miracles come from Jehovah not himself. When Naaman is healed, he is so happy that he wants to give Elisha gifts of gold, silver, and fine clothes. Elisha won’t take anything, but Gehazi wants these gifts very much.óAfter Naaman leaves, Gehazi chases after him without telling Elisha. When he catches up with Naaman, ‘Elisha sent me to tell you that two visitors just came. He would like to have two changes of clothes so that he can give them to the men Nut that is a lie! Gehazi has made up the story about the two visitors. He tells it because he wants to have the clothes that Naaman tried to give to Elisha. Naaman, of course, does not know this. So he is happy to give Gehazi the gifts. Naaman even gives more things to Gehazi than Gehazi asks for.
When Gehazi gets back home, Elisha asks him: ‘Where have you been?’
‘Oh, nowhere,’ Gehazi answers. Jehovah, however, has let Elisha know what Gehazi has done. So Elisha says: ‘This is no time to accept money and clothes!’

The story begins by noting, “Bushes had not appeared on the earth. Plants had not come up in the fields.” The reason given is that “the Lord God had not sent rain or a man to till the earth.” Next, however, “there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.” Scholars argue over the proper translation of the word “mist.” Several translate it as “river” or “underground stream.” All agree that the source for this water was underground, not from rain clouds. This was not rain. This water welled up from below.
Then the Lord God “formed man of the dust of the ground.” Scholars groan over this description, and overwhelmingly prefer the earlier account, where man was “created” with a word. He was just suddenly there. It is so much more inspiring than imagining God gathering dust particles. Here man is created from something that already existed. However, it doesn’t have to mean actual dust. It could be referring to the basic elementsthe kind of stuff that would be used as raw parts. And notice it does not say that God created man out of dust, but that he “formed” him, much like a potter forms objects at his wheel. This is quite a contrast from the account in Gen 1:27 where God made man as the crown of his creation, the one who shared in his care over his creation; this man is clay in his hands and totally dependent upon God. In other words The issue is that in this garden was “every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food.” And it doesn’t say there was just one of each kind either. One easily assumes that this was for man’s enjoyment as well as nourishment. Two trees in particular are singled out for special mention. The first is the “tree of life” and the second is “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”

(1b)
(i)We were created male and female in Gods image: Humanity’s binary gender design as male and female reflects in some mysterious way the nature of God.
(ii)The man was created first and given the responsibility to lead; Scripture teaches that first the man was created by a direct divine act of creation and given the responsibility to lead; subsequently, the woman was created by God from the man and for the man.

According to (Matthew 26:36-46 )
Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray .” He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.
Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me .” Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will .” Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak .” He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done. When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing. Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!
